shonna sexton, a Nashville based artist, knew from an early age that she loved to create. While growing up in rural northwest Tennessee, her parents instilled the value of “if you do not have it, create it.” She has based her life and career on that philosophy.
Shonna has work in many different mediums. Most recently, she works in acrylics. The majority of her works are non-representational and abstract and should be enjoyed for their use of color and form. She draws inspiration from the world around her including the human-created environment. Although her works are not intended to teach a lesson, they do reference humankind's repeated return to a primitive aesthetic and the human impact on the ever-changing world.
